African wild dog
African wild dog

At the end of our day's safari, just as we were about to have our sundowner, an African wild dog appeared nearby, followed by another one, and another! This was a first sighting for me, so without a second thought, abandoned the sundowner and followed the dogs. The first three were joined by seven others. It was clear they were excited about something. Having stopped for a drink of water they raced off towards the trees. Our excellent guide followed the squeals and whimpers of the dogs and we found the pack of 13 feeding on a recently killed impala. Black-backed jackals waited in the wings together with a committee of vultures including white headed, white backed, hooded, leopard faced and maribou stork. It was quite a scene.
